What you need to know about Ram Orientation

You’ve submitted your application, you’ve declared #ColoStateBound from the rooftops, and your first day of classes is coming faster than you might realize. What’s the next step?

Ram Orientation is a key checkpoint on your Colorado State timeline. Whether you attend virtually or in person, it’s when you work out your class schedule, talk with an academic advisor, and maybe even meet some of your new friends.

Here are some important things to know about this exciting experience:

#1. Orientation is required

Attending Ram Orientation is essential to getting your journey at Colorado State University officially up and running whether you’re a first-year, transfer, or international student. The information you’ll get and the steps you’ll take throughout the online experience are really important, and attendance is required in order to remove the orientation hold from your account. You can sign up for available dates starting in January.

#2. You’ll connect with real people

Ram Orientation will involve lots of engagement and interaction with real people, even when you sign up for the virtual experience. You’ll get to connect with other future Rams, meet Orientation Leaders, learn about engagement and involvement opportunities, take part in academic advising and register for your first semester of classes, and get all of your questions answered.

#3. There’s a session for your family members and guests, too

Your parents’, family members’ and guests’ questions are important, and we want to answer those, too. Every year, sessions are designed and offered specifically for these Ramily members to help them learn more about Colorado State and how they can support you in your transition. Your families and guests will hear from groups like Parent and Family Programs, University Housing, Office of Financial Aid, and the CSU Health Network.

We’re so happy that you’ve chosen CSU as your home, and we can’t wait to guide you through these next exciting steps of your academic journey.
