Whether you’re just starting the college search process, or you’re ready to seal the deal on becoming a Ram, there’s a good chance you’ve been thinking about your major for a while. We get it — it’s a big decision! There are so many ways for you to explore Colorado State’s 72+ majors, each offering a different way to compare academics, learn about the eight academic colleges, and explore where and what you’ll learn in each major. No matter what stage of the process you’re in, these tools will help you narrow down your major choices.

#1. Take a majors quiz.

The My Majors quiz is designed especially to help you hone down your interests and give you insight on what might be a good fit for both your academic studies and future goals.

#2. Create a personalized viewbook.

CSU’s CustomViewbook tool allows you to find and select only the academic programs, clubs/organizations, and extracurriculars that interest you. Once you’ve selected your interest areas, a personalized page is created with your selections so you can easily learn more about each. It’s easy to add and remove items as you change your mind, too!

#3. Explore our academic pages.

Browse our list of majors, concentrations, and minors to get an overview of all the academic programs we offer here, as well as the many ways you can mix, match, and design your own academic path at CSU. We’re all about options!

#4. Read student blogs.

What’s better than learning about choosing a major from the people who have done it already? In the How I chose my major series, you can read student stories about how they found their major, what their experience at CSU has been thus far, and where they plan to go after college.

#5. Explore majors by their major tracks.

Maybe you know the areas you have interests in, but want to know your options within those areas. Meet the CSU major tracks, where you can explore our majors and concentrations by category: Arts, Humanities and Design, Environmental and Natural Resources, Health, Life and Food Sciences, Global and Social Sciences, Land, Plant, and Animal Sciences, Organization, Management, and Enterprise, and Physical Sciences and Engineering.

#6. Explore CSU academics on social media.

Sometimes the best way to get a feel for potential majors is to explore the social media accounts run by the faculty, staff, and students within those majors. Each of the eight academic colleges within CSU has social media profiles on multiple channels that showcases academics, clubs, students in classes, labs, and the field, and so much more.
